Spoiler-Free Movie Review: Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins

This was a fun action popcorn movie. Lots of good sword fights, though I could’ve went for less shaky cam throughout each one. Of the two GI Joe movies I’ve seen I’d recommend this one. Honestly I’d probably have liked it more if it was an original story as all the GI Joe connections made me laugh since it’s just like an action figure brand to me. Henry Golding made for a great lead so I’m glad the movie around wasn’t as bad as I expected. The plot was also consistently engaging even if most of the reveals weren’t that surprising. Still, based off this I’d watch another Joe movie if they keep Golding in the role and hopefully a different cinematographer than this movie. 7.5/10
