Web navigation - Screen Rant & Comic Book Movie

Since my field of study is film I chose these sites as they are both ones that convey news related to films that are interesting to me. To start off with, Screen Rant has a menu bar at the top that gives links to different areas of the site and follows the look of the rest of the site. There is also a search bar at the top right of the page where one can search any area of the website. The website is also designed to scroll through recent stories, but with a ‘see more news’ button at the bottom that links to the archive which contains every article on the site organized by date. Also, if you use the mobile version of the site it contains the hamburger menu, that Dr. Marco described, which contains all of the options from the menu bar at the top of the page on the full site. ComicBookMovie.com has a similar layout to Screen Rant but is less user friendly. While the topics of both sites are immediately recognizable by name and top article, Screen Rant has a much cleaner feel to it with a darker color scheme and less clutter of links throughout the page. Differing from Screen rant, ComicBookMovie.com has the ability to scroll endlessly, past the obstacle of a ‘Show Me More’ button. On ComicBookMovie.com it is easier to find their social media links as they’re located at the top of the page as well as the Facebook page embedded under the menu bar. The full site and the mobile site both lack the hamburger menu in addition to the fact that the mobile site seems not at all different from the full site, leaving it more difficult for the user to use the mobile version. It is also harder to access older articles as there does not seem to be an index or even a search bar.
